Crews hoisted a hiker off the top of Mummy Mountain this morning. Phoenix Fire got the call just after 8 a.m. for a man who couldn’t get himself down, near Tatum and Lincoln in Paradise Valley. Chopper footage shows crews working on him on the rocks before he went up into the helicopter. His condition hasn’t been released. That’s at least the third Valley hiker rescue in under a week. South Mountain Saturday, a Scottsdale trail the same day, now this one. Nobody’s said heat was a factor here, but it’s the end of July and it’s already climbing. Going out this week? Early or don’t go. Tell us where you’re hiking and we’ll tell you if it’s worth it right now.
