Federal prosecutors filed immigration-related charges against 310 people across Arizona in just one week. From July 18 through July 24, 175 people were charged with illegal entry, 114 with illegally re-entering the country after removal and 21 in human-smuggling cases. The cases are part of the Department of Justice’s nationwide Operation Take Back America. All defendants are presumed innocent unless proven guilty in court.
