Hoover Dam is closed to all visitors until further notice after a 150-ton cableway carriage shifted unexpectedly above the main access road. The system is located near the parking garage and is used to move heavy equipment across the river between the Arizona and Nevada sides. Officials say the carriage shifted during routine maintenance, placing additional stress on the cableway and forcing crews to secure the area. Contractors are assessing the equipment, but there is currently no timeline for visitor access to resume.
