🔎 Today’s Daily Sift: Space
Space exploration is becoming an ecosystem of machines.
NASA just funded 18 early concepts that include robots for lunar caves, hardened instruments for Venus, 10,000 tiny satellites exploring Saturn’s rings, interstellar power systems, black hole imaging, and technology that could one day map continents on distant planets. (NASA)
These are not official missions.
They are signals of direction.
Swarms instead of single spacecraft.
Robots operating beneath the surface.
Independent machines combining their vision.
At the same time, Webb may have explained some of the mysterious little red dots found throughout the early universe.
They may not be isolated objects.
They could be rapidly growing supermassive black holes hidden inside galaxies whose surrounding structure becomes invisible across cosmic distance.
The dot may only be the part we can see. (NASA Science)
