We often look to “national holidays” online for excuses to highlight items from our print shop at the Sacramento History Museum. Today is a good example of that because August 2nd is National Coloring Book Day! For today, Channey letterpress printed an image from a large photo engraving that was formerly used many MANY years ago for an activity coloring page and was distributed at the museum during a special program. This was printed with black rubber base ink using our Washington hand press, which was made in 1852.
