Daniel still remembers riding his bike through the hallways at Children's Colorado with his therapy team. Now, he strides those same halls as an employee with a new mission. When Daniel was 5, he came to our Sie Center for Down Syndrome to receive care. “It was fun being with my team, and I always liked going there,” Daniel says. With the help of our therapy team, Daniel learned how to run, and now he’s sprinting through life. Daniel returned years later as a teenager for a projectsearchhq internship — learning job skills, independence and confidence in the professional world. Project SEARCH is a school-to-work transition program to help young adults with developmental disabilities learn more about the workforce. Through the Project SEARCH program, Daniel completed rotations at different internships throughout the hospital to get experience in different jobs.
