Amber Rose was a miracle from the beginning.
When her mother, Jayne, didn’t feel any movement during her pregnancy, the first hospital she went to told her to find a mortuary. Miraculously, Amber Rose, who was diagnosed with Down syndrome, ended up surviving and was delivered via C-section.
Their family was soon referred to us, where they found a care team that would help Amber Rose thrive. One doctor that supported Amber Rose in the early days of her life was former Director of the Sie Center for Down Syndrome Dr. Francis Hickey, who shared with Jayne his own experience of having a child with Down syndrome.
Though Dr. Hickey has since retired, Jayne is grateful for his support and care.
