The Grateful Dead weren’t just a band—they were an entire movement across America. I guess festivals and burning man are the reincarnation, and I’ve been to those…. Good try but there is nothing like a Grateful Dead concert. Americans have this fascination with getting on the road to see America… it’s big, it’s everything at the same time.. Red Rocks CO to San Fran CA, back to Radio City Music Hall, NY – and all the in-between like some raceway in Maine…. Camper vans to motorcycles, and of course the old school bus painted, with people hanging out the windows. It was always about the cast of characters, from Bill Walton to grill cheese chefs, and of course acid testers. It was a melting pot of characters that were looking for the fun.
