Chicago, this is your sign to stop by the gallery.
Upstairs, Richard Orlinski’s “Wild Kong, Tag Mat,” a faceted, mid-roar gorilla. From there: several new x-ray works from British photographer Nick Veasey, revealing the hidden structure inside everyday objects, plus brand new pieces from Evelyne Brader-Frank (stainless steel, reduced to pure form) and Isabelle Scheltjens (glass fused at 800°C into portraits that only resolve from a distance). Downstairs: an Adam Umbach spotlight. Chicago-born, now working out of Brooklyn, Umbach paints childhood back into focus.
New artists, completely different processes, tag the person you’re dragging to the gallery with you this week.
