Chance Cooper, “Golfers.”
LA artist Chance Cooper built his reputation on the Crowd and Song series: stark outlines, restrained palettes, often just one character or main cast in color, telling full narratives through minimal figures and props. Over time, color has crept further into his work, and “Golfers,” his newest series, three pieces just finished drying in the studio, culminates in color.
Same narrative style Cooper’s known for, but this time color is doing just as much storytelling as the line work.
Which era pulls you in more: Cooper’s stripped-back black-and-white work, or this fuller color direction?
