The snow that blankets the earth, the frost that settles upon creation, and the ice that binds the waters are not random forces beyond His control. They are the works of His hand. God is present and active in His creation; He is not distant from what He has made. He continually sustains and orders it according to His purpose. The LORD is not just warmth, growth, and abundance, but of cold, stillness, and contentment. His power is seen both in what overwhelms and in what gently sustains.
