Q: Tell us about your career path in the nonprofit sector.
My interest in the nonprofit sector actually began with my participation in MSU's Study Away Program in Washington, D.C. I always had an interest in advocacy and that led to my time as a Publications & Magazine intern with the Human Rights Campaign. During that time, I figured out how I could couple my journalism education with my interest in mission-driven work. I love being able to apply everything I learned in J-School to advancing the mission of causes that I'm passionate about.
Q: How has your experience at the J-School helped you in your career?
The J-School allowed me to learn a little bit of everything. Throughout my professional career, I've been able to apply the skills I've gained in photography, audio storytelling, video, writing, editing,...
