I wasn’t always the calm one.
Some mornings I had it together.
Other mornings I was holding it together by a thread, hoping my kid couldn’t tell.
For a long time I thought that meant I was failing at this.
Turns out, showing up imperfectly - tired, unsure, faking calm until it became real - was still enough.
What mattered wasn’t getting every morning right. It was staying steady enough, often enough, for things to slowly shift.
She’s at university now. First choice.
Not because I nailed every hard day - but because I kept showing up on the ones I didn’t.
If today’s one of the hard mornings for you, I want you to know: you don’t have to have it together to be doing this right. We did it, imperfectly, and you can too.
It’s not possible to get this right every time - because it is so so hard.
With care,
- Jules ♥️
