Every single appointment, I’d think: maybe if I ask it a different way this time. So I’d rephrase it. Reframe it. Try to ask smarter, softer, more specific - anything that might finally get us a plan instead of a conversation. And every single time, it didn’t matter how I asked. I’d get the same thing: a tangent. Thoughtful, educational, well-meaning … explaining the why, the what, the theory behind it all. 🔸 Never the how. I wasn’t looking for a lecture. I was listening so hard for one glimmer of something we could actually DO - and I never found it. Not once. Not with any therapist, any appointment, any way I tried to ask. It wasn’t me asking wrong.
