How to save your arms on the sled pull
If your arms are completely cooked after the sled pull…
You’re probably pulling with your arms.
That’s the mistake.
Your arms should connect you to the rope.
Your legs should move the sled.
The best technique is what I call the walk-back method.
Here’s how:
✅ Pull just enough to take the slack out of the rope.
✅ Keep your hands together and your arms relatively straight.
✅ Lean your body back.
✅ Then simply walk backward, driving through your legs.
Your arms shouldn’t be doing the heavy lifting.
They’re just transferring force from your lower body into the sled.
The more you try to row the sled with your arms…
The faster your grip, biceps, and shoulders will fatigue.
Save your upper body for the rest of the race.
Use your legs to move the sled.
The sled pull isn’t an arm exercise. It’s a walking exercise with a rope.
