#TakeActionTuesday: A common myth is that Title IX forces schools to cut men’s programs to create more opportunities for women. It’s not true. Title IX requires equitable opportunities. It does not require schools to eliminate men’s sports to get there. Schools can comply with Title IX without cutting men’s teams by reducing unnecessary spending and investing more fairly across their athletic program. No cuts are required. Schools have multiple ways to meet the law, while building more participation opportunities for girls and women.
