Meet Coach Chris Shaw — a lifelong wrestler who grew up mat-side with his father, a Georgia referee of 40+ years and 2019 Georgia Wrestling Hall of Fame inductee. In high school, Coach Shaw helped lead Eagle’s Landing to a team state title his junior year and a state runner-up finish his senior season, closing out with 30 pins and a 52–9 record. After playing football at the University of Georgia, he took over as head wrestling coach at Coosa High School, helping revitalize the program. Today, Coach Shaw teaches PE at Lost Mountain Middle School and proudly coaches with two of his own boys in the program—Tyson, a freshman on the high school team, and Beckett, a 6th grader on the middle school team, both longtime Top Dogs.
