Meet Coach B — Ira Blumenthal 🥍 A true legend of the game, Coach B brings over 65 years of lacrosse experience, passion, and leadership to the HOYA Youth Lacrosse program. Raised on Long Island, NY — one of the nation’s top lacrosse hotbeds — his impact on the sport spans generations. Coach B was a member of a Division I National Championship team at the University of Maryland and went on to co-found the Major Indoor Lacrosse League. His coaching career includes time at Towson University and Kennesaw State, along with earning national “Coach of the Year” honors. Locally, he played a pivotal role in launching Harrison High School Lacrosse back in 1998. In 2023, he joined HOYA Youth Lacrosse to coach his grandson, Benny, and continues to pour his knowledge and energy into developing the next generation of players.
