This past Sunday in Damascus, we hosted a special lecture at Al-Mouwasat University Hospital in collaboration with Damascus University. Dr. Mayssa Attar, Senior Vice President of Global Pharmaceutical R&D at Bausch + Lomb and one of the leading researchers in ophthalmic medicine, spoke to medical students and resident physicians about how artificial intelligence is transforming drug discovery and the future of ophthalmology. Rebuilding Syria means rebuilding its institutions, and that includes its medical community.
