The Navajo Nation is partnering with Flock Safety to deploy automated licence-plate readers across its 27,000-square-mile territory in Arizona, New Mexico and Utah. The cameras photograph passing vehicles and record licence plates, vehicle characteristics, locations, dates and times. Investigators can search the system or receive alerts when a vehicle may be connected to an active case.
