Described by NASA as the 'fire-breathing dragons of clouds', fire clouds – or pyrocumulonimbus – are huge storm clouds reaching up to 15km into the atmosphere.
Generated by the immense heat released from wildfires, they become a problem in Europe as blazes continue to tear through Spain and France.
