A former Visalia Unified School District employee has been sentenced to five years in state prison after pleading guilty to 11 felony counts involving the sexual abuse of two students.
Now, FOX26 is investigating how 40-year-old DeJaun Jones, a former campus supervisor at Mt. Whitney High School, was rehired by Visalia Unified years before those crimes were brought to light.
The questions surrounding Jones' rehiring come as Brendan Gilbert, the attorney with Taylor & Ring, representing the two victims in the civil case, says Jones should never have been allowed back on a school campus following previous allegations.
