The number of cases of a dreaded gastrointestinal illness is expected to keep rising as federal health officials work to determine the exact origin of what's now the largest-ever cyclosporiasis outbreak. Last week, Health and Human Services Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said his department had the outbreak "under control" and had identified its source. The Food and Drug Administration said it has been linked to iceberg lettuce sourced from central Mexico by Taylor Farms, but no product sample tests have yielded a confirmed positive result for cyclospora, the parasite that causes cyclosporiasis. “I don’t think this is fully under control yet," Former Food and Drug Administration Commissioner Dr. Scott Gottlieb said.
