CAL FIRE Incident Management Team (IMT) 4 has arrived in Washington State.
Wildfires do not stop at state lines, and neither does our commitment to helping one another. By sharing resources, expertise, and incident management capabilities, agencies work together to protect lives, safeguard communities, and strengthen wildfire preparedness throughout the region.
While CAL FIRE regularly mobilizes resources to assist neighboring states through mutual aid agreements, this deployment marks a historic milestone—the first time a CAL FIRE Incident Management Team has been activated to the State of Washington. CAL FIRE IMT 4 was mobilized under the Northwest Wildland Fire Protection Agreement (NW Compact), which enables member states, territories, and Canadian provinces to share personnel, equipment, and expertise when wildfire activity exceeds local resource capacity.
