It’s Tiger Tuesday: Summer Edition, and we are spotlighting 3 Tigers who apparently decided weeks without school would be entirely too relaxing. 🐯🛠️
Incoming freshmen Ryan Sharp and William Kitch and incoming junior Eitan Alperstein recently completed the competitive Robert Welter Fellows Math & Make Program at Clear Creek Makerspace—an intensive six-week STEM fellowship designed to take math off the worksheet and put it to work in the real world.
🔧 Five days a week for the last 6 weeks, these students worked their way through the Makerspace’s Fab Lab, Woodshop, and Metal Shop, learning everything from CAD, coding, 3D printing, and laser cutting to woodworking, CNC machining, metalworking, and welding.
And they learned A LOT.
As the program coordinator shared, the fellows grew from being “hesitant to even touch a 3D printer” to “confidently woodworking, welding, machining and more”—taking on increasingly complex projects while learning how math, engineering, design, creativity, ...
