August 4, 2026, Gaza City, Gaza Strip, Palestinian Territory: Palestinians take part in a mass funeral for the recovered remains of members of the Abu Sharia and Al-Hasayna families in the Sabra neighborhood of Gaza City. The remains were recently recovered from beneath the rubble of their homes, which were destroyed in an Israeli strike earlier in the war. Gaza’s Civil Defense said its crews recovered the remains of 112 people during a two-week operation in the residential area where the two families lived, which it said was hit in an Israeli airstrike on November 23, 2023.
