Day 7 of Seahawks training camp and another opportunity for me to find a photo as part of my daily photo journal for the duration of camp. The impetus behind posting daily is to hold myself accountable to work on my vision, my storytelling and my camera skills after a period of feeling like my work had become flat and lifeless.
Fans think of an NFL training camp as a series of football practices, which is true, but for teams like the Seattle Seahawks who open their practices to the public, there is much more going on. With fans attending comes corporate partnership activations, merchandise stands, food and beverage, giveaways, activities for kids, and in the Seahawks case, a commitment to community engagement. One of the booths on Saturday featured Make-A-Wish Alaska and Washington and I was fortunate enough to meet and photograph Harper, who made a “heart” sign with Seahawks mascot Blitz (sorry for cropping you out, Blitz, but I’m sure you understand).
