I still cant believe we were 10ft away from this giant. She savored every bit of this flower. She appeared out of nowhere. The encounter lasted just a few short minutes. She ate her way towards us and as it became clear she wanted to cross the trail right where we were standing we backed off and she made her way across the path and disappeared into the aspen trees on the other side.
