AMD is under sharp pressure Wednesday despite delivering a second-quarter earnings beat that would normally be enough to send the stock higher. The chipmaker reported revenue of 11.54 billion dollars, topping the Wall Street estimate of 11.28 billion, but shares fell as much as 9 percent in pre-market trading before settling around 485 dollars, down roughly 6 percent. Much of the market's disappointment centered on forward guidance, particularly expectations for Helios, AMD's upcoming rack-scale AI platform. Futurum Group CEO Daniel Newman said the results themselves "were good," but noted that investors were hoping for a "blowout guide driven by Helios."
