I used to be skeptical of kindness content on social media. For years, I believed the best acts of generosity happened when no one was watching. I worried that putting a camera on kindness would make it feel performative. The general rule still is that kindness needs to be authentic, and the most authentic acts of kindness - without any ulterior motives - are done in private and without public celebration. But my mind has evolved over the years and I now also appreciate the power of those who inspire all of us to do more acts of kindness. Creators like isaiahgarza and my friend Zach (mdmotivator) have shown that there is a way to genuinely celebrate authentically kind people, and to help those in greatest need, in a beautiful way that delivers enormous amount of help from millions that are inspired to pitch in. Sometimes the ripple effect matters more than the spotlight. If sharing kindness encourages more kindness, that’s a future worth building. #BeABuilder
