This carousel is Chicago through the lens of Pride: not only the celebrations, but the everyday places where visibility, history, culture, and connection live year-round.
Chicago has been part of my story long before I ever called it home.
My grandparents met here after being released from Japanese American internment camps following World War II. Years later, gymnastics brought me back as a Stanford student-athlete. Over time, the city became more than a place I visited—it became where I built community, found belonging, met my partner, and created a life.
From the lakefront and Buckingham Fountain to North Halsted, the Legacy Walk, Navy Pier, AIDS Garden Chicago, and the Obama Presidential Center, each stop reflects a city that continues to make space for more stories, more perspectives, and more people.
Come for the views. Stay for the people.
Which Chicago stop means the most to you?
