Tom Garfinkel is stepping down as CEO and president of the Miami Dolphins after 13 years, ending one of the most influential executive runs in sports business. Under his leadership, the Dolphins transformed Hard Rock Stadium into a year-round sports and entertainment destination, launched the Miami Grand Prix, bought a 45% stake in the Miami Open, and helped grow the organization's valuation from roughly $1B to more than $8B. Garfinkel developed a strong reputation for talent development. More than 40 people who started at the Dolphins below the VP level are now executives with the Dolphins or elsewhere in sports.
