i know this is probably an unconventional comfort movie… but hear me out. whenever life feels like it’s falling apart, i put on project x. somehow, watching a kid accidentally throw the biggest house party in cinematic history makes whatever i’m stressing about feel significantly less catastrophic. there’s just something about this movie that captures an era we’ll never get back because the early 2010s felt loud, chaotic, reckless and everyone was chasing a story worth telling on monday morning. and then pursuit of happiness starts playing, the steve aoki remix. i genuinely don’t think a song has ever been paired with a movie more perfectly. every time i hear those opening notes, i’m instantly transported back to that feeling, like anything and everything was possible. like life hadn’t become so serious yet. maybe that’s why this movie has stayed with me for so long. it’s not really about the party, it’s about remembering what it felt like to be young enough to believe the world ...
