Ursus maritimus, the sea bear. I just got back from the polar bear capital of the world and my SD cards are full. So is my wildlife-loving heart. Fun fact: Polar bears are the only bear species classified as a marine mammal. They’re built for life on the sea ice and are incredibly comfortable in the water. The longest documented polar bear swim lasted 9 days and covered about 426 miles.
