Where in the (Martian) world is Curiosity?   Our Curiosity Mars rover has started its climb up a Martian valley called Valle Grande. The photos Curiosity snapped of its hike reveal a field of honeycomb-like structures in the soil called polygonal fractures. While Curiosity has seen this soil texture before, it has never found a patch this large.   Mission scientists are still studying this soil texture for clues to how it formed. Similar textured patches that Curiosity had discovered in the past appeared to be mud cracks, pointing to possible cycles of warm and cool conditions in the Red Planet’s history.   Credit: NASA   #NASA #Mars #CuriosityRover
