The cheapest EV in America just came back. And General Motors already plans to phase it out. The Chevrolet Bolt is returning to production with a starting price of $28,995. That puts it far below the current average new vehicle price, which recently crossed $50,000. For many buyers, it is one of the only electric vehicles that still feels financially reachable. Roughly 75 percent of Bolt buyers were conquest customers during its original run, and about 72 percent stayed within GM when they purchased their next vehicle. GM appears to be using it to pull new customers into the ecosystem before shifting production toward higher margin vehicles like the Equinox and future Buick crossovers. Sometimes, the most important vehicle in a lineup is the one that introduces you to the brand. Watch the full episode at the link in our bio.
