“Generation AI” is winning hearts on the sales team.
A new report from Salesloft and Clari says generational friction between Boomers, Gen X, and Gen Z is costing sales organizations about $56 billion a year in lost productivity.
Part of the tension is showing up in a surprising way. 39% of Gen Z sales reps say they would rather be managed by AI, and some Boomers say they would choose AI over working with Gen Z colleagues.
That says less about loving AI and more about a trust gap between generations.
The irony is that each group brings something valuable. Experience, relationships, speed, and digital instincts.
Maybe the real opportunity is using AI to help teams learn from each other instead of working around each other.
What’s your take? Is generational tension in sales real or overblown?
