Some people think the auto industry needs saving. Elgie Bright sees something different. He sees students who want in. At Northwood, students are preparing to lead the retail automotive industry. They're studying it, pitching ideas to improve it, and actively choosing it as a career. For years, the conversation has centered on recruiting and retention, as if the next generation needed to be persuaded. But when you spend time with these students, you realize the momentum is already there. Elgie said it best: some of us are looking through the rear view. These students are looking through the front view. Our job is not to save the car business. It's to make sure we're building one worth joining.
