A man died and seven children are hurt after a stolen car full of the youth – ages 12 to 15 – slammed into a car in Germantown, Maryland, before sunrise Tuesday, authorities say.
The name of the man who died was not immediately released.
The violent crash occurred at Clopper Road and Great Seneca Highway. First responders arrived at about 5:25 a.m. and found a white Kia Optima and blue Toyota Matrix with extensive damage. The Toyota’s driver was pronounced dead on the scene.
"The preliminary investigation determined that the white Kia Optima, reported stolen from a Montgomery County residence several hours after the collision, entered the intersection and struck a Toyota Matrix traveling on Clopper Road," county police said in a statement.
