Northwood students, Yichen Lyu and Mikhail Shewels, continue to uphold our tradition of musical excellence. 🏆 (Swipe to hear them perform 🎹) Both were selected as two of only six Grade 11 pianists from across KZN to perform at the prestigious Senior Students’ Invitation Concert at UKZN. At the Queensburgh Festival of Arts, Yichen received the Under-18 Pianist Trophy and Overall Modern 1 Trophy, while Mikhail received the Under-18 Recital Trophy. Yichen also achieved 97% in his Trinity College London Grade 7 Piano Examination and was named Trinity College London South Africa’s Top Achiever for 2025.
