Baiting Hollow Scout Camp marks its 100th anniversary this year. For more than 10 decades it has been a place where hundreds of boys ages 11 to 17 — and in the last few decades, also girls — learn more than just archery, knot tying or how to row a boat. They spend weeks on more than 200 acres of woodlands in Calverton, revisiting pre-cellphone days when screens were just used to keep mosquitoes out. Baiting Hollow is the "epicenter" of Scouting America in Suffolk County, local Scouting leaders say.
