The plastic crisis doesn’t affect every place equally. 🌊 Communities that contribute the least to plastic pollution are often the ones forced to live with its consequences. In Samoa, Coca-Cola replaced reusable glass bottles with single-use plastic packaging, adding even more unnecessary waste to an island nation with limited waste management infrastructure. Within months, Coca-Cola was reportedly responsible for about one-third of the country’s plastic bottle waste, much of which can end up polluting the ocean. Island communities shouldn’t have to bear the burden of a problem they didn’t create. The good news? A solution already exists. Coca-Cola can bring back the reusable bottle system that once worked in Samoa, dramatically reducing plastic waste. Add your name to the call to keep plastic out of the Pacific.
