In Samoa, Coca-Cola replaced reusable glass bottles with single-use plastic packaging, adding even more unnecessary waste to an island nation with limited waste management infrastructure. Within months, Coca-Cola was reportedly responsible for about one-third of the country’s plastic bottle waste, much of which can end up polluting the ocean.
