SEND to your spouse if they need to see this 😂 & comment ‘TIPS’ if you want more feeding tips + links to utensils
The serving size is something I not only catch my husband overestimating, but so many parents I work with too 🥲
I get asked all the time:
“how much should my toddler be eating?”
“what if they barely touch dinner?”
The truth is, toddlers have tiny tummies (about the size of their fist 😮) so they don’t need nearly as much food as we often think
A simple rule of thumb: start with about 1 tbsp of each food per yr of age. So for a 2yo, that’s about 2 tbsp of each food. If they’re still hungry, they can always ask for more!
Smaller portions can feel less overwhelming and often encourage toddlers to explore more foods 🙂↔️🙌🏼
Remember, look at their overall intake across the day/week, not just one meal. Toddler appetites are unpredictable, and they’re the only ones who truly know when they’re hungry or full (even tho it can be so hard to trust at times)
