A #DoorDash driver was hit by a car during a police chase while delivering food in #Atlanta. #MiracleHerron was making a DoorDash delivery when she found herself caught in the middle of a police chase. Police records show the suspect, Torrance Whitaker, was wanted on an outstanding burglary warrant and was allegedly fleeing at speeds of up to 100 miles per hour. Herron says she heard sirens and screeching tires before the fleeing vehicle came toward her. She was struck by the car, but somehow managed to get out of the way—and then still delivered the customer’s food. The impact left Herron dealing with back, neck and leg pain, as well as severe headaches. She later sought medical treatment and has been undergoing physical therapy. The incident also raises bigger questions about the safety of DoorDash, rideshare and delivery drivers, who can find themselves caught in dangerous situations while simply trying to make a living.
