Before its Spike TV deal, TNA Impact aired at 3 p.m. on Friday afternoons on Fox Sports Net. The show debuted June 4, 2004, giving TNA its first national television outlet after two years of operating on weekly pay-per-views. The slot was 3 p.m. ET in most markets, 4 p.m. in others, and was subject to being moved by regional FSN affiliates around their other programming. TNA paid for the airtime, buying the slot from FSN at a reported $30,000 per week. The FSN presentation included the network’s score ticker and an on-screen clock. The show ran one hour, used the six-sided ring, featured the X Division, and carried a roster that included AJ Styles, Monty Brown and, by mid-2005, Samoa Joe, taped at the Impact Zone at Universal Studios in Orlando.
