Jim Ross says his brain surgery is set for Wednesday in Norman, Oklahoma. Speaking on the latest Grilling JR, the 74-year-old gave co-host Conrad Thompson an update on the procedure, which will place a shunt in his brain to drain fluid. “I got a big week coming up. My surgery is this Wednesday in Norman,” Ross said. “I don’t want to say I’m looking forward to it, but I guess I really am, to get to that point and get it over with. I have never had brain surgery before, so I’m getting a shunt put in my brain.” Ross said doctors told him his hospital stay would be shorter than he expected: “That surprised me and made me happy, but still, I would have guessed longer.” Ross explained the decision on last month’s show, saying his problems began when he passed out at home and was hospitalized for almost 40 days, and that memory issues had made it impossible to live as he was.
