Conrad Thompson called Roman Reigns “probably the most overrated main eventer in WWE history” on the latest 83 Weeks, and Eric Bischoff agreed with him.
The comments came as the two discussed Reigns retaining the World Heavyweight Championship against Seth Rollins at SummerSlam on Sunday. Thompson prefaced the take by saying it would annoy people, then described Reigns with a term borrowed from the music business, calling him an “industry plant” — someone whose success is manufactured and backed rather than earned organically. He argued WWE’s fortunes would not change at all if Reigns disappeared tomorrow.
Thompson said WWE pushed Reigns “down our throats forever,” pointing out that this is the exact phrase Triple H has used to explain why the company is not pushing Bron Breakker harder.
