Before the internet, missing a pay-per-view meant waiting months to see it. If you did not order the show or know someone who taped it, the options were the results in the magazines, a 900 number hotline, or waiting for the VHS to hit the rental shelves. WWF pay-per-views were released through Coliseum Video, usually months after the event aired, and WCW’s shows came out through Turner Home Entertainment. Rental chains like Blockbuster stocked full walls of them, alongside compilation tapes like Best of the WWF and superstar profile releases. Some releases trimmed matches for time, so the tape you rented was not always the full broadcast. And if the previous renter did not rewind, you found out the hard way. For a lot of fans, that Blockbuster wrestling section was how they saw WrestleMania. #WrestlingHistory #Blockbuster #WWE #WCW #DidYouKnow
