A science experiment took flight from our KPIX rooftop this morning! Bay Area-based company WindBorne launched a weather balloon to gather clearer data of systems as they move in. Traditional weather balloons pop after about 90 minutes of flight, but the WindBorne balloons fly longer and higher, allowing them to gather more accurate data. CBS meteorologist @jessica.burch talked with Ellie Yoon and Gene Bradley from WindBorne to learn how the balloons work. Scan the QR code on the video or head to the link on this video to track the balloon's flight. #weatherballoon #flight #sanfrancisco
