STOP Pushing women to find their spouse in college. A woman at undergrad Cornell University in 2014, one of the highest-ranking universities in the US, admitted: "I would be the first to admit that graduating single sometimes feels like a failure of sorts. But the truth is, a failure would have been to not play at all —to not go on horrible dates, to not fall hopelessly in love and to not make a fool of ourselves. Armed with these experiences, we will tackle the next step knowing more about ourselves than we could have ever hoped to learn" I indeed was in college in 2014 when there was a lot of cultural pressure to pair up in college & grad school (I also was the only women in my PhD cohort graduating single LOL) and did indeed feel some sense of failure DESPITE EARNING A PHD in engineering.
